Ryan Jay Sidebottom (born January 15, 1978 in Huddersfield) is an English cricketer. He is a left-handed batsman and a left-hand medium-fast bowler.
Sidebottom, the winner of the NBC Denis Compton Award two years running, 1999-2000, finished as the leading domestic English-bowler at the end of 2000, 12.5 runs for each of his 24 wickets, capping this with a nomination for Cricketer of the Year by the Cricket Writers' Club. Injury problems took away much of his 2000 season, but next summer, Sidebottom toured the West Indies, and continued to make his international debut against Pakistan in place of Matthew Hoggard.
