[edit] Fair use claim made for photo to be used in Babe Ruth article

This photo dates from 1926. The source of the photo is Yankees Century, published in 2002 by Hougton Mifflin, authored by Glenn Stout. Photo credit is given to the Baseball Hall of Fame.

A fair use claim is made for this photo to be used in the Babe Ruth article, in the section "Return to the Top." This is a section of Ruth's 1926 season. This section includes information about the 1926 World Series, and Ruth, after a great season, made maybe his worst on the field decision in his baseball career. In the 9th inning of game 7 of the series, Ruth was easily thrown out trying to steal second, ending the series. Apart from almost all the other photos one typically sees of Ruth, usually hitting home runs, this photo is an excellent contrast. It shows that even the great superstars of sports fail.

The amount of photo used in this article is a little smaller, with less resolution than its source. The fair use of this photo is for educational and non-commercial purposes only.
