[edit] Fair use claim for photo to be used in Babe Ruth article

This photograph dates from 1918. Since taken before January 1, 1923, it may be eligible for public domain if other conditions apply. The source of this photo is the book The Image of Their Greatness, authored by Lawrence Ritter and Donald Hong, published by Crown Publishers in 1979. Photo credit is given to Brown Brothers.

A fair use claim is made for this photo to be used in the Babe Ruth article, in the section 'Emergence as a hitter.' This photo is used to compliment the text that details how Ruth in 1918 started to make his move more from an a pitcher to more an everday batter. 1918 was the first year Ruth led the league in home runs. This is an interesting early photo of young trim Ruth batting, an image that I believe was used by the U.S. Post Office as a commemorative stamp of Ruth.

This photo is smaller than its original source, with less resolution. The fair use of this image is for educational and non-commercial purposes only.
