Rust Never Sleeps is episode number 145 of the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon series. The episode is a part of the Vacation in Europe series from 1992-1993. The Vacation in Europe series take place during season 4, so the Technodrome is still in Dimension X. This episode of the show was written by Lee Schneider and Matthew Malach.
Krang is working with an "oxidizer rocket" with power enough up to send the Technodrome to Earth. But something goes wrong, and instead of "thrust", the device grows "rust"! Shredder blames Krang, but Krang thinks that it can be used by threatening to rust metal if the people don't surrender to Krang and Shredder.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Splinter are in Paris, France. Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady arrive in Paris through the dimensional portal with the device, and cause a blackout in Paris' electrical power system. When April O'Neil arrives to cover the story of the blackout, Shredder captures her. The turtles go out to rescue her when Bebop and Rocksteady blast metals with their device. Even the Eiffel Tower gets blasted, and begins to collapse from rust. In the end, the turtles save April and Donatello reverses Krangs device to turn the metals back to normal.
