Russell Osman

Russell Charles Osman (born 14 February 1959) is a former English international footballer.
He played nearly 400 games for Ipswich Town and represented his country 11 times.
Later in his playing career he was player-manager of Bristol City (1993–4), and later managed Cardiff City (1996–8). He had a brief role as joint caretaker manager of Bristol Rovers in 2004.
He also played one of the prisoner-of-war footballers in Escape to Victory. The 1981 film also included soccer legend Pele, American actor Sylvester Stallone, British actor Michael Caine and ex-soccer player Ossie Ardiles. The film was based on a game betweeen an allied team against a Nazi German team during World War 2.
