Russell Hoult, (born November 22, 1972 in Leicester, England), is currently a goalkeeper with West Bromwich Albion, an English football club in the FA Premier League.

He helped them win promotion to the Premiership in 2002 and 2004, and was a regular player in the side which escaped relegation in 2005. He is currently West Brom's record goalkeeper after keeping 27 clean sheets in the 2001/2002 promtion season.

He began his career at Leicester City, where he was usually a reserve and was sent on loan to Lincoln City (twice), Blackpool (where he did not make a first team appearance) and Bolton Wanderers.

He signed for Derby County in 1995 and went on to help them win promotion to the Premiership in 1996. He remained with the club until January 2000, when he was loaned to Portsmouth. This transfer was made permanent two months later, he remained with the club until the following January, when he left to join West Brom.

After being a regular in goal for West Brom for several seasons now and being sometimes mentioned as an England possibility Hoult started the 2005/06 season injured and also likely to suffer from competition from Chris Kirkland who manager Bryan Robson signed on 12 months loan from Liverpool.

After recovering from his injury, Hoult was loaned to Nottingham Forest, where, he appeared to have a future because of the uncertainty of Gary Megson and to which he would have as his number 1 in a promotion battling season. However, he was recalled during his second month with the club following an injury to Kirkland.
