[edit] WorldVision

Ruslana performed at WorldVision Song Contest's first edition in South Africa.

“Ruslana is Ruslana, even in Africa”. That’s how the organizers of the Worldvision festival, particularly of its first stage Africavision, thought when deciding to invite the famous Ukrainian to cross the equator to let her Wild Energy burst out in the sunny Republic of South Africa. Ruslana agreed with pleasure. “I must admit.", Nguen Domba, the representative of the Worldvision organization committee, says. "We were much impressed by the energy of this girl and her music during the ESC 2004 final in Istanbul already. It was a real honour for us to invite such a bright and unique star to perform for the African audience. We expected the audience to welcome her very warmly, but the result exceeded all expectations!”

Around-the-world journeys and exotic countries are already a common thing for Ruslana and her team, so the climate change and an unusual environment didn’t prevent the Wild Dancer from causing a real Wild Energy explosion! Our countrymen impressed the Southern brothers with the new costumes and music from the brand new project. And, of course, the performance included Wild Dances as well. The audience met the winning song of the ESC 2004 standing. One of the local singers was so much impressed, that she presented Ruslana with a hand-made skin lash the day after, which was especially prepared for her in one night.

Besides the performances Ruslana participated in two press-conferences, telling a lot about her country, as she usually does. After this, the organizers arranged a visit to the local original inhabitants zouluses for her. According to the eyewitnesses, Ruslana felt herself at home there and tried her skills on the African drums and in the expressive dance of the tribe. The true appreciation towards the Ukrainian singer was proved by some exotic gifts and by offering her to stay longer.

Africa is a very interesting country for me.", Ruslana says while sharing her impressions. "Here one can find a real treasure-house of unique grooves, melodies and rhythms. I’m very happy about the new contacts, co-operation with the organizers of the Worldvision, the local TV and Radio, and I hope to come back here with my new projects someday”.
