Question: Who knows the copyright status of Russian government publications, e.g., at ru gov websites? I don't see copyright notices a (some of) them . mikka (t) 01:52, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I've finally found it myself, in wikisource, in Russian: Wikisource:Закон об авторском праве и смежных правах (1993).

Не являются объектами авторского права:

официальные документы (законы, судебные решения, иные тексты законодательного, административного и судебного характера), а также их официальные переводы;

государственные символы и знаки (флаги, гербы, ордена, денежные знаки и иные государственные символы и знаки);

произведения народного творчества;

сообщения о событиях и фактах, имеющие информационный характер.

There is a general Russian stub message; {{Russia-stub}}. All unfinished articles using this stub are in Category:Russia stubs. The messsage at the article bottom reads:

 This Russia-related article is a stub. You can help Wikipedia by expanding it.

A dedicated stub template exists for Russian Biographies of Russian people: {{Russia-bio-stub}}. All unfinished articles using this stub are in Category:Russian people stubs.

There is also a separate message for Russian geography stubs: {{Russia-geo-stub}}. All unfinished articles using this stub are in Category:Russia geography stubs (which is a subcategory of both Category:Russia stubs and Category:Geography of Russia).

Two dedicated stub templates for history related articles have just been created: {{East-Slavic-history-stub}} and {{Russian-history-stub}}. Articles with these stub templates go to Category:East Slavic history stubs or Category:Russian history stubs, respectively. The messages at the bottom of the articles will say:

 This East Slavic history-related article is a stub. You can help Wikipedia by expanding it.
 This Russian history-related article is a stub. You can help by expanding it.

A third stub, for articles specifically connected to the Soviet Union, has also recently been created. This uses {{Soviet-stub}}, and feeds into Category: Soviet Union stubs

    • Ëzhiki — Russian; currently and permanently living in the United States. A participant of the Russian federal subjects WikiProject.
    • Maximaximax — Russian; lives in Tomsk, Russia, administrator of Russian Wikipedia. Here I mostly set up interwikies, but sometimes improve articles: unfortunately my English is not good enough to create or modify articles, but at least I can read them.
    • Maksim-e — Russian; lives in Moscow, Russia. Here I mostly set up interwikies, but sometimes improve articles: unfortunately my English is not good enough to create or modify articles, but at least I can read them.
    • apoivre — Russian, living in Moscow, used to have much more time to devote to Wikipedia.
    • KNewman — Russian; born and lived most of my life in Moscow. Have been living in the US for the past five years.
    • Grue Russian, born in Perm, but currently lives in Moscow.
    • Maqs Russian, born and lives in Sochi.
    • Monedula — Russian, living in Yaroslavl.
    • BACbKA — Jewish, living in Israel. Born and lived in Saint Petersburg for 18 years. Occasionally contributing on ru:WP as well.
    • 172 20:00, 28 Nov 2004 (UTC) I'm U.S. born, U.S.-located, specialized in the U.S. as a historian, etc. but one of my long-running concerns on Wiki is generating interest in the articles on recent Russian history and politics, which remain very underdeveloped. I'm the main author, e.g., of History of Russia, History of post-Soviet Russia, Russian constitutional crisis of 1993, and First Chechen War... The next Russia-related project I want to accomplish is rewriting the Yeltsin and Putin articles.

    • Ruy Lopez Not Russian, by nationality or descent. Am interested in Russian history however, particularly the period where Russia was called the RSFSR. Also interested in the period preceding the existence of the RSFSR, as well as modern Russia.
    • Halibutt - Slav, Russian speaking.
    • Fred Bauder - I work in this area a lot, my family spent a while in a German farming community near Odessa, see Bauderhistory.com.
    • Aika - American (dont blame bush on me!) with close ties to St. Petersburg. Main intrests are Aerospace and human affairs. I have mostly edited USSR topics, not due to bias, but due to lack of education on modern Russia
    • Ghirlandajo - Russian of Ukrainian descent, living in Yaroslavl, interested in Russian geography, literature, medieval history, and art.
    • Humus sapiens — Jewish, born in Ukraine. Love biographies.
    • Ld - Russian/Belarusian/Jew (depending on who you ask). I lived 10 years in Babruysk, now residing in the United States. I work mainly on Belarusian history/geography topics.
    • Maynichev — Russian, born in USSR. Programming (me). History of Siberia (my wife see here).
    • DimaY2K — I was born in Riga, lived there till age of 12, now I live in Israel. I'm interested in Russian military.
    • Vorash - Russian , Living in Tel-Aviv, until 17 lived in Rostov-on-Don
    • Passwd - Ukrainian, living in Kiev. Novice :). Working with Russia- and Ukraine-related stubs.
    • Zscout370 - American, living in California. I study about Russia in my spare time.
