Rungis is a commune in the southern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located 11.6 km. (7.2 miles) from the center of Paris.

Rungis is close to Orly Airport. It is mostly known for its large wholesale food market, the biggest in the world (Marché d'Intérêt National de Rungis).

The name Rungis was recorded for the first time in a royal charter of 1124 as Rungi Villa. The name Rungi is apparently a corruption of Romiacum, the original meaning being "estate of Romius".
