"Runaway" is a song by Linkin Park. It is the sixth track from their debut album Hybrid Theory (2000).

The song is written around the general thesis of somebody wanting to escape their fears.

Linkin Park said that they wrote "One Step Closer" whilst trying to write this song: according to their words, the band got so frustrated with the idea, that they wrote their debut single out of anger.

There is a remix of this song on Reanimation, Linkin Park's 2002 remix album, which is called "Rnw@y". There is also a live version of this song featured on the CD and DVD of Live in Texas.

In 1996/7, Linkin Park, (when they were still called Xero and featured Mark Wakefield as their first lead vocalist) wrote a song called "Stick N' Move" on their first sampler tape. The opening riff from that song is used in "Runaway".
