[edit] Boundaries
Ruislip-Northwood is a safe Tory seat comprising middle-class North-West London suburbia. The BBC TV sitcom The Good Life did its location filming here in the 1970s, even though the programme was set in Surbiton in South London, which is now represented by the Liberal Democrats.
[edit] Boundary review
Following their review of parliamentary representation in North London, the Boundary Commission for England have created a modified Ruislip constituency, to be fought at the next UK general election in 2009 or 2010. It is to be called Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner.
According to the Boundary Commission Report, accessed 22 Jan 2006, the name of the constituency has a comma between "Ruislip" and "Northwood".
