Rudolf Island

Rudolf Island named after Rudolf, Crown Prince of Austria is the northernmost island of the Franz Josef Land, Russia, it is located at 81.7672222° N 58.56° E. Teplitz Bay is a camp site that served as a staging point for numerous polar expeditions in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Due to the steep terrain, the only airfield access is a small snow strip 300 m (1000 ft) up a glacier at. Cape Fligely located on the island is the northernmost point of Europe.
