Rudersdal municipality

As of January 1, 2007 Rudersdal municipality will, as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipal Reform" of 2007), come into existence as a municipality (Danish, kommune) in Denmark. It will consist of the (what are currently existing, but on January 1, 2007) former municipalities of Søllerød and Birkerød. This will create a municipality with an area of 73 km² and in 2006 a total population of 54,241. The new municipality will belong to the new Region Hovedstaden ("Capital Region").
