[edit] Biography
[edit] TLC
Rozonda was raised by a single mother in the Atlanta area, and didn't meet her father until she was twenty-five years old. Their reunion was captured on an episode of The Sally Jesse Raphael Show.
In 1991, she joined the acclaimed R&B/hip hop group TLC, which scored four number one singles, sold millions albums, and became the best selling female group of the 1990s. In 1995 and, again, in 2003, she was voted one of People Magazine's "The Worlds Most Beautiful People." In 1997, she had a son, Tron, with Dallas Austin, TLC's long time producer. She became romantically involved with singer Usher Raymond in 2001. The relationship ended in 2004. In 2006, she was number 90 on Maxim Magazine's Hot 100 women of the year.
[edit] Solo Career
In the time since TLC went on hiatus, Rozonda has hosted a radio show in her native Atlanta and has engaged in philanthropic activities. She's had guest-starring roles on shows such as: The Parkers, and Strong Medicine. In 2000, she was featured in the made-for-tv movies: A Diva's Christmas Carol (with Vanessa L. Williams), and Love Song (with Monica.) In 2001, she co-stared in the action film Ticker.
She recently signed a four album deal with Akon's Interscope Records label Kon Live Distribution, which will release her solo debut album — tentatively due some time in early 2007. Akon stated,"...But the mothership of all the labels is at Interscope, which is KLD, Kon Live Distribution. I just signed Chilli [of TLC] on that situation. The records I got on that girl, y'all better be ready."[1] The album will involve collaborations with executive producer Missy Elliott, Kon Live label head, Akon and group mate T-Boz. As well as production by Timbaland and Will.i.am.[2] T-Pain who is signed to Akon's Konvict Muzik label recently finished a upbeat dance track with Chilli as well for her upcoming album. [3] One of the album's songs called "Gameproof" was recently leaked to the Internet and created an unexpected buzz.
