[edit] Trivia

  • Shawn Michaels later vacated the WWF Championship on the Thursday RAW Thursday special. Due to this and the controversial situation over the Royal Rumble ending, Steve Austin, Bret Hart, The Undertaker and Vader were pitted against each other at In Your House 13: Final Four in a Four Corners match for the WWF Championship. Because of the match, Steve Austin was the first Royal Rumble winner to not receive a WWF Championship shot at WrestleMania since the stipulation was introduced in 1993.
  • During his stay with the WWF, Razor Ramon has competed at the Royal Rumble only in championship matches consecutively from 1993-1996. He faced Bret Hart for the WWF Championship in 1993 and from 1994-1996 he competed in matches for the WWF Intercontinental Championship or defending it. "Razor Ramon" did compete in the 1997 Rumble, however by that point he was being portrayed by Rick Bogner, not Scott Hall, who originated the character.
  • During the WWF Free For All pre-game show featuring "Mini Vader" and "Mini Mankind", Vince McMahon inquired if ever there was a "Mini King" (in reference to Jerry "The King" Lawler), to which Lawler promptly reminded them that were, in fact, "mini Kings", in the form of Cheesy, Sneezy, and Queasy at Survivor Series 1994.
  • This is the only Royal Rumble event to be held in a stadium. All other events have taken place in arenas.
