Royal Rumble 1990 was the third annual Royal Rumble professional wrestling pay-per-view event from the World Wrestling Federation. It took place on January 21, 1990 in the Orlando Arena located in Orlando, Florida.

- Dark match: Paul Roma def. The Brooklyn Brawler
- Roma pinned The Brooklyn Brawler (6:13)
- The Bushwackers (Luke Williams and Butch Miller) def. The Fabulous Rougeaus (Jacques Rougeau & Raymond Rougeau) (w/Jimmy Hart)
- Butch pinned Jacques after the two hit the Battering Ram. (13:34)
- Brutus Beefcake and The Genius fought to a draw
- Beefcake locked in a sleeper after referee Earl Hebner was knocked down and then went to cut The Genius's hair. After Mr. Perfect attacked Brutus, Hebner recovered gave the match a double disqualification. (11:04)
- "I Quit" match: Ronnie Garvin def. Greg Valentine
- Garvin made Valentine submit to a Reverse Figure Four Leglock. (16:51)
- Jim Duggan def. Big Boss Man (w/Slick)
- Jim Duggan defeated Big Boss Man by disqualification when Big Boss Man hit Duggan with his nightstick. (10:26)
- Hulk Hogan won the 1990 Royal Rumble
- The final two participants were Hulk Hogan and Mr. Perfect. Hogan managed to throw Perfect over the top rope to win the Royal Rumble. (58:41)
- Due to the kayfabe events the year before (in which "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase bought the #30 position), there were "added security measures" surrounding the drawing of the entrance numbers. Dibiase drew #1 and as a consequence, he could not "purchase" a higher number (as he was accused of doing the previous year). He lasted for approximately 45 minutes before being eliminated by The Ultimate Warrior.
- Rick Rude entered prematurely and went straight after The Ultimate Warrior.
- Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior had a one on one confrontation between the appearances of #26 and #27, leading to their match at WrestleMania VI.
- The final two participants were Hulk Hogan and Mr. Perfect. Hogan managed to throw Perfect over the top rope to win the Royal Rumble. (58:41)

- An "episode" of the Brother Love Show aired and featured "Sensational" Queen Sherri and Sapphire. The two got into a heated argument, leading into a brawl between the two. Randy Savage and Dusty Rhodes then joins them. Rhodes and Sapphire clean out the ring including Brother Love.
- Jake Roberts, Tito Santana and Akeem are the only three to have competed in every Royal Rumble up to 1990.
- Ted DiBiase broke Curt Hennig's longevity record, lasting nearly forty minutes. He entered at number 1, while in the previous year he had entered at number 30.
