Royal Oak, Meavy

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Royal Oak Inn is a pub in the village of Meavy, in Devon, England, on the fringes of Dartmoor. The pub dates to the late 15th century. It is unusual in that it is owned by the (Anglican) parish, with the profits being distributed among the villagers. Some of the seating consists of pews formerly located in the nearby church.

Immediately in front of the pub is the Meavy Oak, an oak tree which is thought to predate the pub by several hundred years.
