The Royal Exchange Hotel, or 'RE' as it is known locally is a popular pub at the centre of Toowong, Brisbane on High Street.

On the 19/05/2006 a 25 year old Brisbane man died in hospital after two Royal Exchange Hotel security guards restrained and removed him from the premises. The two security guards involved were charged with murder by Queensland Police.

The Royal Exchange Hotel is a popular with local office workers and also University of Queensland students due to its proximity to the university. 'I would rather be at the RE' is the tag line used in advertising.

The history building has fallen into disrepair with no major renovations in recent years. Upstairs the building has rotted in places.
