Roy Webb

Roy Webb (October 3, 1888December 10, 1982) was a film music composer.

Born in New York City, Webb has hundreds of credits to his name, mainly with RKO films working on dark horror and film noir scores. He worked uncredited as a music arranger for Citizen Kane (stock music of his was used in this and many other films). As music composer for over 200 films, Webb scored Out of the Past (1947), Bringing Up Baby (1938), Love Affair (1939), Cat People (1942), The Leopard Man (1943) and They Won't Believe Me (1947). He was nominated for seven Academy Awards in his long career from the 1920s through the 1950s. Educated at Columbia University, Webb first composed music for the stage.

Webb died in 1982 from a heart attack at he age of 94.
