Rowena is a place in Minnehaha County, South Dakota.

Rowena is located at 43°31′13″N, 96°33′20″W, just over a mile north of the border with Iowa, about 5 miles east of Sioux Falls, and some 6 miles west of the Minnesota border, at an elevation of 1,411 feet. The ZIP Code is 57056.

Two of the world's tallest structures are near Rowena: the 609.6 metre high KDLT Tower, and the slightly shorter KELO TV Tower.

Farming is the traditional activity of Rowena.

According to an 1895 atlas, Rowena had a population of 126 people. According to the 1950 census, Rowena had a population of 70. The United States Census Bureau no longer tracks Rowena as a separate community.

Actress Mamie Van Doren was born in Rowena.
