[edit] Alf B. Meier
A tag has been placed on Alf B. Meier, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable (see the guidelines for notability here). If you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please write {{hangon}}
on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.
Please read the criteria for speedy deletion (specifically, articles #7) and our general biography criteria. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. (aeropagitica) 00:54, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

I understand your position about the deletion, but I don't understand why you would not include a short reference to someone referenced in various articles inside Wikipedia, can someone explain?

[edit] IP Addy
Noted in the deletion discussion of Kafenio that someone signed out with the same IP I am using. As you want to stay anonymous let me ask this as cryptic as I can; Are you staying in a big hotel right now that overlooks an eastern sea and if you look to the east you can see a red bulk carrier anchored?
Alf photoman 13:39, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
- Then we happen to stay in the same hotel today. Make you a deal, if you buy me a drink I'll ask my wife to bring you the book you need for the Jacobson bio, she is flying in later this afternoon
-
- Ok, just called my wife. You'll find me in the bar at the main entrance, if you never seen a picture of me before, I am reading Practical Photography on Glass and Paper published in 1856 that I have just picked up at an antiquary in London last week Alf photoman 14:04, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Roberta Beach Jacobson
Rough, I noticed that you removed the {{notability}} tag that I added to the above article. Unless you intend to address the concerns as stated in my edit summary, or let me know on my talk page or on the article discussion page why you believe the tag is unwarranted, such removal is considered bad form at best. I have replaced the tag. — Moondyne 14:11, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
- Article is not yet finished, there are at least 10 more books, several more critiques and so on of which I have a weak reference, looking for data. The point is that at the end the notability will be mostly Kafenio (just take a look how many noted Travelwriters got their start there).—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Rough (talk • contribs).
- Thanks, Lists of her works and book reviews do not neccesarily assert notability. Please read WP:BIO. Wikipedia's criteria for notability is quite high and the onus is on the author to demonstrate that the person is important - not by your and my standards, but by standards set down in those policies. I am aware of a previous AfD for this article - unless these concerns are seriously addressed, it will likely end up being renominated. — Moondyne 14:28, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] CWA
Rough, the issue is not whether the organisation is real, but that the entry there was a external link to a website. Our policy on disambiguation pages (WP:DISAMBIG and WP:MOSDP) is that such pages are for listing links to Wikipedia articles - they are an aid for readers to find the appropriate WP article. Wikipedia is a not a web-directory. If the organisation is notable, then a WP article ought to be written and only then should it be listed there. — Moondyne 22:54, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
