"Round & Round" is a song by New Order and the second single from their 1989 album Technique. It was rerecorded for single release with Stephen Hague, who had previously worked with the group on their hit True Faith.
It is one of the groups most dance centred songs, with few guitar or bass lines. The single version was released in 7" and 12" versions, the differences being the 12" has a 2:45 intro and stops cold, while the 7" omits the intro and fades out earlier. The single version differs from the album version, not only in length, but in its emphasis and repetition of the line "It makes me act like a child". Like the majority of New Order songs, the title is never sung. Other differences include a fuller sound, incorporating a wash of synthesizers, also a keyboard solo is removed replaced by an instrumental break of the chorus.
The artwork by Peter Saville Associates mirrors the Technique album cover, but using a different statue and complimented by red or blue (depending on which version owned) background.
New Order contributed music to the BBC comedy-drama series 'Making Out'. The theme is an instrumental version of "Vanishing Point" from "Technique" as both series and album were being recorded at the same time. It is featured on 5" Cd versions.
