Rough Island, Scotland
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Rough Island is a tidal island in Rough Firth off the Solway Firth, Scotland.
Since 1937 it has been in the ownership of the National Trust for Scotland. The island is a bird sanctuary accessible across the sands when the tides allow but visitors should avoid doing this during the months of May and June to avoid disturbing the nesting oystercatchers and ringed plovers.
