Rudolph Mbela Douala (born September 25, 1978 in Douala), also known as Douala, is a Cameroonian footballer currently playing for Portsmouth on loan from Sporting.
He is an international midfielder/forward player and is known for being very fast. Douala started his career in St. Etienne but became more famous in Portugal, playing for Boavista FC, União de Leiria and then at Sporting.
Douala, is on loan, with a view to signing for 8 million pounds. The prolific winger is a good signing for Harry Redknapp's Pompey, giving the squad a lot more depth. However, he has only had substitute apperances so far in the season, meaning the deal is becoming less likely, with Douala apparantly keen on a move to France. This transfer was unveiled on the last day of the transfer window, with Andy Cole and Niko Kranjcar joining for a combined total of £4 million.
