Rotting is a Canadian death metal band, formed in the early 90's with influences such as Deicide, Suffocation and Autopsy. Rotting's lyrical aspect stems from anti-religion, death and gore; keeping it simple while still retaining an original sound.

Rotting has graced the stage with some of the most popular bands in the death metal genre, including: Fleshgrind, Dying Fetus, Cannibal Corpse, Suffocation and more..

Rotting has only released one official CD release in 1998 and a "Best of" compilation in 2002, featuring two new tracks: "Bear Attack" and "I Want You Dead". An unreleased live track "Homosexual Grave Robber" recorded in Toronto, 2002 can be found on many P2P networks.

The band is currently on hiatus; fans eagerly awaiting one last show.
