[edit] Category:Kentucky Government images
I noticed you created the Kentucky Government images category, where it says images created by the government of Kentucky are in the public domain. Is this true? Only the U.S. federal government releases its images into the public domain; images created by state government employees can and generally are copyrighted (except in California, where state law releases all images into the publci domain). Does Kentucky have a similar state law? Thanks. [[User:Neutrality|Neutrality/talk]] 20:54, Dec 4, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Drum and bugle corps articles
I've been a parton of all the drum corps articles for some time now, and I'm glad to see that you've been bold in changing some stuff for the good. There's a Drum Corps Wiki, but to be perfectly honest I've never been fond of it. I'd like to hear back from you about making more specific corps pages, like you did for the Madison Scouts. You do very high quality work, by the way. Thanks. --Mr Bound 21:22, Mar 10, 2005 (UTC)
Wow, Ross! Great work on the DCI Division I World Champions page! Tons of information, great formatting...I'm speechless! Mr Bound 10:35, May 6, 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for the remark about the table. I borrowed the formatting from the Master Chief (Halo) article, and fiddled with it until getting it right. If you have any suggestions as to information that can be added to and/or subtracted from the table, please let me know, or make the changes to it as you see fit. As for the vandal, if the attacks on the page are continued, at least they won't go unnoticed (I have virtually every single drum corps page under watch, originally due to Catherine). I'll poke around later today and see if I can't find some more information about how we'd go about dealing with this. Cheers! Mr Bound 10:46, May 13, 2005 (UTC)
Hey again, Ross. I poked around about vandalism: it sounds like if this guy's really persistent (probably more than just one or two edits a week) and malicious, then it would be prudent to report him at Wikipedia:Vandalism in progress. Otherwise, just the old reversion tool. By the way, the tables page now has three working tables. Integration into the articles will come next, I want to see if I can find a few more logos first, though. Mr Bound 17:45, May 14, 2005 (UTC)
RE: Season pass images. I'd noticed those myself when signing up for the beta, and while they're a bit on the small side, it looks like they'd work pretty well in lieu of larger ones. Since most of the corps pages at DCI.org have larger logos already, I think it's best to see what can be gleaned from there first. I'll make a run and do some saving, since we're currently lacking pages for many major corps at the moment. Mr Bound 18:40, May 14, 2005 (UTC)
Just did some saving. I have pretty much every major corps logo in some form except for the Kingsmen, Star of Indiana, and the Velvet Knights, and some other corps who only made finals a few years or are D-1 but have yet to place for finals. I know where to get a SoI logo and I think a VK one too. Mr Bound 18:51, May 14, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Wikiportal update
No problem. Interestingly, I will be leaving in a few weeks and will not have internet access until August as well. But I'll still be around June 1, so I'll update it. Tuf-Kat 20:57, May 24, 2005 (UTC)

Did you take the new image of the Scouts? If so, the page needs liscensing information, or where it was retrieved from. A good image, shows horns, drums, and guard. Mr Bound 19:29, 18 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Brain Teasers:
Hi, just sending out a friendly notice stating that I have now got brain teasers on my user page. Will post new questions one day after the older ones have been answered. Thanks, Spawn Man 06:11, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] DYK
Did you know? has been updated. A fact from the article Papillon (autobiography), which you recently created, has been featured in that section on the Main Page. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page. |

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Madisonscouts.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Madisonscouts.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. Matt 05:26, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

As I explained in my deletion log summary, we cannot accept non-commercial only images. This comes directly from Jimbo Wales himself, as explained in this e-mail. Jimbo has been quite clear on this, and it has been Wikipedia policy since that e-mail was written in May. I really had no choice. Thanks. Chick Bowen 05:52, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Urban Dead
Ross, do you play Urban Dead? I saw an addition to the suggestions page on the Urban Dead Wiki by "Ross Uber" [1] and had to ask. If you do, we ought to hang out sometime in the game. Mr Bound 00:54, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Date Formatting
Hello,
- This is in regards to the Dennis Brain Article. The style in which I formatted the Birth and Death dates are actually the first one recommended in the Wikipedia Manual of Style; the one you chose is the third choice. Also, the date of an auto accident is not a date 'in music'. Please revisit the MoS for yourself.

- Hello again,
- I agree with you that bracketing the Birth and Death dates is rather pointless, but I'm fairly new to this whole thing, and I was just following what I believed to be policy. No offense meant.
- Hello again,

-
- I, too, am a huge fan of Dennis Brain. I have some tremendous performances of his on LP.
