Rosehill railway station serves the eastern part of Parramatta near the Parramatta River. It also serves the Rosehill Gardens Racecourse on race-days. The station is the junction of the Carlingford line and the now freight only Sandown line.

It is lies at the end of the double track section from the main line junction at Clyde. The station has two platforms, a four car platform on the Carlingford branch, and an 8 car platform on the Sandown freight line, which is use by racecourse trains.
