[edit] Roman Catholicism in El Salvador

Roninbk, thanks for letting me know. I used to do a lot of Wiki stuff then I dropped off for about 6 months. I was wondering why there didn't seem to be a way to link to the deletion talk page. I forgot there are several different deletion templates, not just Speedy and regular. RickReinckens 01:11, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Billion-to-one.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Billion-to-one.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 18:05, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

  • Note to future readers I withdrew the image with {{db-author}} due to the image failing to upload properly. I did have a fair-use rationale, but it wasn't clearly stated for the bot to catch. --Roninbk t c # 19:59, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome to Esperanza!

Welcome, Roninbk, to Esperanza! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.

Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is Stressbusters, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We will send you newsletters to keep you up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.

In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Proposals.

If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact Natalya by email or talk page. Consider introducing yourself at the Esperanza talk page! Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). If you're new to IRC, you may find help at an IRC tutorial. I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!

[edit] Women Fully Clothed

Nice work on Women Fully Clothed! Also, if you are the one who caught my lack of signed comment, thanks for adding {{unsigned}}. -Harmil 02:04, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Prostitution in the Czech Republic

Thank you for that. I was going to have a go at creating a stub myself, but you saved me the job. Keep up such good work! ☺ Uncle G 15:50, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

You recently endorsed deletion of Prostitution in the Czech Republic. I would like to inform you of a major revision of the article, and would invite you to revisit your vote. --Roninbk t c e # 07:10, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

Some nice work, and a good rewrite which requires some more refinement. Hope my new 'Keep comments on the nomination page are appropriate. Rgds, - Trident13 10:22, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Thanks for your kind comment on my talk page. It is indeed always a pleasure to see a discussion ending in good agreement :). Happy editing! --Cpt. Morgan (Reinoutr) 18:16, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] thanks

thank you for the welcome. As a new user it would be nice to get some feedback and I see you are an editor of the RPG project group. Maybe you could comment on Blue Planet (role-playing game) or Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Role-playing games or on my talk page. I also created an entry for the Company who published the Blue Planet game but some admin deleted it as 'no value'.--Cunnington A 23:19, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion for prods!

Although you tagged a number of prodded articles for speedy deletion, I would like it if you would please just leave the prodded articles and let them run their course. They will be deleted within in five days, so it is not really necessary to tag them for speedy deletion. Thanks, and happy editing. Nishkid64 22:03, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

Apologies, just trying to be helpful. Would it help if I just limited myself to G11 et. al. stuff that needs to be removed quickly? --RoninBKETC 22:08, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, that would be fine I guess. However, I'm just saying generally. If you definitely feel the article shouldn't even be prodded and should just be deleted (see if it is notable at all), then by all means, go ahead. Nishkid64 22:39, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

Wow, I tried to add afd, and got an edit conflict because you'd already done so. Go team!  :) Xtifr tälk 03:02, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] re : Sakura-Con

Hello, Patrick ^-^ Thanks for working on the Sakura-Con article.

I added the kanji for "baka" and changed the hirigana to the katakana form that is usually used for the word. I also clarified the largest anime cons mention by adding the words "in North America". Minor stuff like that, I know how to do.

However, my knowledge of structuring in Wikipedia is still limited. What I don't know how to do that still needs to be done is create links so that both "Sakura Con" and "Sakuracon" redirect to "Sakura-Con", since we (ANCEA) own the copywrites to all three spellings. Could you please do that for me? Thanks.

peace Alinda Sue 18:54, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

Sakuracon and Sakura Con already redirect to Sakura-Con, and have since March 27, 2006 --RoninBKETC 23:29, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] November Esperanza Newsletter

Program Feature: Admin Coaching (needs coaches!)
Admin Coaching needs coaches!!! If you are an administrator, or even a generally experienced user, do consider signing up to be a coach.

Admin Coaching, now being coordinated by HighwayCello, is a program for people who want help learning some of the more subtle aspects of Wikipedia policy and culture. People are matched with experienced users who are willing to offer coaching. The program is designed for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.

What's New?
The Tutorial Drive is a new Esperanza program! In an effort to make complicated processes on Wikipedia easier for everyone, Esperanza working to create and compile a list of tutorials about processes here on Wikipedia. Consider writing one!
A discussion on how Esperanza relates to the encyclopedia has been started; please add your thoughts.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  • The list of proposed programs has been updated, with some proposals being archived.
  • There is now a new program: the Tutorial Drive! Consider writing a tutorial on something you are good at doing on Wikipedia.
  • The suggestion of adding a cohesive look to all the Esperanza pages is being considered; join the discussion if you are interested!
  • In order to make a useful interlanguage welcome template, those involved in translation projects will be asked what English Wikipedia policies are most important and confusing to editors coming from other language Wikipedias.
  • A discussion of Esperanza's role in Wikipedia is being held, with all thoughts of all Esperanzians wanted!
  • Shreshth91 informed everyone that he will be leaving the Esperanza council as life is rather busy; his spot will be filled by the runner up from the last election, HighwayCello.

Although having the newsletter appear on everyone's userpage is desired, this may not be ideal for everyone. If, in the future, you wish to receive a link to the newsletter, rather than the newsletter itself, you may add yourself to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Newsletter/Opt Out List.

[edit] Your Signature....

[edit] Re: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Halo Demo for Mac

I closed it as a delete because I saw a rough consensus to delete aside from the smerge arguments, and I'm not so sure it would be a useful redirect following a merge of any kind. You can still go ahead an add a mention of the fact that there was a Mac demo to Halo: Combat Evolved if you want. --Coredesat 22:51, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Ah, but there's the rub. As a Delete, and the fact that I am not an admin, I have no access to the former edit history --RoninBKETC 22:58, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
The problem is that the PC version of the demo is not mentioned in the article. The XBox version is, but it was a launch title for that game, and had significance. If you want to mention the Mac demo anyway, you don't really need the edit history of the deleted article, because the only mergeable information is that the demo existed prior to the game's release, and a merge isn't really necessary to add that. Everything else is game guide material (down to what weapons can be found on the version of Blood Gulch and how people mod the demo), and isn't mergeable. --Coredesat 23:06, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Charter

[edit] Articles for Deletion:Draconity

I just wanted to thank you for your measured and thoughtful comments on the AfD page. As much as I've appreciated having the page around, having people like you calmly and sympathetically lay out the reasons it's insufficient did help give me some perspective on it. (And did change my vote, for what it's worth.) Baxil 00:31, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wow!

That is some hardcore devotion to deleting a single unencyclopedic article. I am incredibly impressed. -- Kicking222 17:54, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
