Ronnie is a song by Metallica on their 1996 album Load. According to James Hetfield, the lyrics are based on a school shooting in 1995 in the state of Washington. The shooter was Ron Brown (referred to as Ronnie Long or "Ronnie Frown" in the lyrics).[citation needed]
