[edit] Early career

Ron graduated from TVB's "7th Entry" Dance Training Class in 1999 and "1st Entry" Artist Training Class in 2000. He officially became a TVB artist after signing a contract with the company in 2000 and has worked with TVB since. Many websites have criticised his acting skills, especially in scenes where he has to cry. The criticism is decreasing though due to his improved performance in a numbers of shows for TVB. However, other criticisms have surfaced, accusing him of arrogance and laziness during the filming of many TVB drama series. Some argue that this is not true, but photos, along with his personal background (which contains many fallacies, inconsistencies, and dubious information - which were later said to be false reporting by the local paparazzi) and attitude towards his co-stars and helpers doesn't help stop the criticisms.

However, despite criticisms and rumours circulating through Hong Kong Magazines, Ron has won himself a strong and large fan-base in Hong Kong and other parts of Asia. His increasing popularity with the audience and TVB is reaffirmed when he was one of the four TVB actors selected to be the 2006 World Cup Spokesman. Along with him, were Raymond Lam, Kevin Cheng, and Bosco Wong.

[edit] Career highlights

After his transition from dancer to television actor in 2000, Ron was featured in minor roles until later. His breakout role was that of Issac in the 2003 TVB drama series Triumph in the Skies, which gained him his popularity with the audience. Ng then won TVB most improved Actor in 2004 with his performance the show, Twin of Brothers, at the 37th TVB Anniversary Awards.

Ron was also featured in the movie Moments Of Love in 2005. In same year, he signed with BMA Music Records and came out with his first EP album, The Fast Pass. Ron also came out with his first album, Fast Forward, in January 2006. He later won several Hong Kong Music awards with his new album, for Best Newcomer and Top 10 Hits.
