Ron Burke, also known as Lucky Ron is a country music performer based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada's capital.

[edit] Musical Style

Burke has been performing in Ottawa bars for over 20 years in various bars, including the now-closed Downstairs Club on Rideau St. Burke has a following in the Ottawa area, where his shows are like a country music version of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, in which call and response and audience participation are part of the show.

For example, after he plays the third song of his set, Burke will wait until the audience calls for "Number Four!", which is Come and find out! Other artists he covers include Johnny Cash and Stompin' Tom Connors.

When the Downstairs Club closed, Lucky Ron briefly took over the space and dubbed it "Lucky Ron's". He currently plays Saturday afternoons at The Chateau Lafayette (known as The Laff) in Ottawa's historic Market area.

Burke has also performed in Ottawa-area groups such as Lucky Ron and the Rhode Island Reds and The Black Donnellys. Burke ran for mayor in the Ottawa municipal election of 2003, garnering a small number of votes.
