Ron Bennington

Ron Bennington is a stand-up comic and co-host of The Ron and Fez Show. Ron's radio career started on The Ron and Ron Show in Florida with co-host Ron Diaz. In 1997, the show disbanded and Ron teamed up with Fez Whatley to create The Ron and Fez Show. The show eventually moved to New York, although it spent two years broadcasting out of Washington D.C. exclusively. For several years, Ron owned a comedy club in Florida and in his early years spent time with the likes of famous stand-up comedians Bill Hicks and Sam Kinison.

Ron often uses drug references on the air to make jokes, for example when someone admits to a substance problem, he breaks out his catchphrase, "That don't make you a bad person." Ron has alluded to personal problems in the past, with multiple references being made to cocaine and rehab. It appears he has conquered them to date. While on XM Radio's "Broadminded" in June 2006 Ron mentioned having been clean for 7 1/2 years. Ron regularly smokes, and is seen posed with cigars.

He grew up as a boyhood friend of "Don Vito" Vincent Margera, who won the "Binge Bowl" on The Ron and Ron Show while it was in Tampa.

Ron and his family currently live in New York.

On the October 2nd, 2006 show of Ron and Fez he refuted the claim that he is uncle to Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington, stating to a staff member "He is not my nephew so stop fucking with me. You and Bill back there whispering around with each other 'cause you read fucking lies off of Wikipedia. Don't believe these things." He has previously stated (on WNEW when Linkin Park released their major label debut) that a relative of his was the lead singer of a popular band, in jest due to them sharing the same last name.

Ron and Fez are now heard Monday through Friday 12 noon to 3 PM EST on XM The Virus 202 following Opie and Anthony.
