Ron Amstutz

State Senator Ron Amstutz, of Wooster, Ohio, is an American politician of the Republican Party. He was first elected to the Ohio Senate in 2000, after serving in the Ohio House of Representatives for 20 years. Senator Amstutz is currently the longest serving member of the Ohio General Assembly.

In 2004 he was re-elected, without opposition to a district which includes all of Medina, Wayne and Holmes counties, plus about 3/5th of Ashland County, including the City of Ashland.

Senator Amstutz serves as Chair of the Senate Ways and Means and Economic Development Committee and is also a member of these other committees: Finance and Financial Institutions; Judiciary on Civil and Commercial Law; Joint Legislative Ethics Committee; Governor's Advisory Committee on Faith Based and Community Initiatives; Joint Committee on Medicaid Oversight; and Legislative Information Systems Subcommittee.
