Romford F.C.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Romford F.C. is a football club based in Romford, England. They were established in 1876 and reached the Quarter-Finals of the FA Cup in the 1880-81 season. In 1949 they were FA Amateur Cup finalists, beaten 1-0 by Bromley. They subsequently went professional and were Southern League Champions in 1966-67. A proposed move to a new ground in Oldchurch Park ended in disaster when it failed to meet Southern League standards and the club went out of existence. Later reformed, in 1992, they won the Isthmian League Second Division. They performed well in the 2006/07 FA Cup as they reached the 2nd Qualifying round before being dumped out by Worthing 4-2. They are currently playing in the Essex Senior League.
Currently managed by ex-player Mark REED, their squad currently consists of Paul CLAYTON, Andy OXBY, Neil FINN, Danny DOWNER, Ricky MACKIN, Danny RAFIS, Ben TURNER, Kevin NEVILLE, Kelly HUGHES, Chris BARRY, Kevin CLARK, Petrit ELBI, Lee PYNE, Scott WALSH, John MASKELL, Des GALLEN, Kurt SMITH, Max CORNHILL, Wayne MARTIN, Oliver MONKSFIELD, Steve HOWE, Paul ROGAN and Danny MULROONEY.
