Note: Denmark and the UK currently opt to maintain their national currencies, the krone and the pound. Sweden has not made any effort towards its obligation to join after the failed referendum in 2003. |
Romanian euro coins have not yet been designed. They will replace the current national currency of Romania, the Romanian leu, after their accession to the European Union, and once they fulfil the convergence criteria. The euro will probabily be adopted by Romania around 2014.
