From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Roman Catholic Church in Zimbabwe is part of the worldwide Roman Catholic Church, under the spiritual leadership of the Pope and curia in Rome.

There are just under one million Catholics in the country (about 7% of the total population). There are eight dioceses, including two archdioceses. The most famous Catholic churchman in Zimbabwe is Pius Ncube, the archbishop of Bulawayo, an outspoken critic of the government of Robert Mugabe.
