The Roman Catholic Church in Spain is part of the worldwide Roman Catholic Church, under the spiritual leadership of the Pope and curia in Rome.

There are over 38 million baptized Catholics in Spain - about 90% of the total population. There are 70 dioceses and archdioceses.
According to a 2005 poll (see "pregunta 49"), 77.7% of Spanish people declares as Catholic. 18.8% declares to be as non-believer or atheist.
however, that many Spaniards identify themselves as Catholics just because they were baptized and for cultural reasons, even though they may not be very religious.
