The Roman Catholic Archbishop of San Francisco is the diocesan bishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Francisco in San Francisco, California in the United States. As a metropolitan bishop, the archbishop oversees the entire Ecclesiastical Province of San Francisco which consists of the dioceses of Honolulu, Las Vegas, Oakland, Reno, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, San Jose, Santa Rosa, and Stockton. The archbishop's seat is located in the Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption. The archdiocese is currently led by the Most Reverend George Hugh Niederauer, who was installed as the eighth Archbishop of San Francisco on February 15, 2006. He had previously been the bishop of Salt Lake City, Utah.
