Talk:Roller-delayed blowback

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I have removed the following addition, since it makes no sense:

"Roller-delayed blowback is a type of firearm action where a set of rollers delay the blowback of the weapon by bleeding off gas around the bullet when it is travelling through the barrel. Once the bullet exits the weapon the rest of the gas may then escape through the barrel and normalizing the internal pressure. This method of action reduces recoil thus making fully automatic weapons more manageable by a considerable degree. One drawback to this system is that because the action chambers after each shot regardless, the bolt must be manually drawn back in order to chamber a newly inserted magazine. Since most weapons that implement this system are intended for military purposes the delay between reloads due to this inconvenience could be costly from a tactical point of view".

"...bleeding off gas around the bullet when it is travelling through the barrel. "? Huh? Leibniz 17:31, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
