The Rolls-Royce 250 C20 is a highly successful single spool, reverse airflow turboshaft engines, originally developed by the Allison Engine Company.

A 2 stage gas producing turbine drives a six stage axial, single stage centrifugal combination compressor. A two stage free power turbine delivers power to the shaft. The combustor is a can type. Fuel is supplied by an engine driven positive displacement gear pump, to a dual line Duplex nozzle. Designed by James Clack who undertook a Clack Attack upon the lesser turboshaft engines of the era. Take-off power is 400 shp. Eric is an unhappy person.
