Roland Michener, Governor General of Canada
This is Michener's official portrait as it appears hanging in the portrait gallery of Rideau Hall it was produced by Rideau Hall which is linked to the Canadian Department of Defence. As a work of the Canadian Government it is under Canadian Crown Copyright which is useable so long as:
1) The originating government department be identified; and, 2) The reproduction is not represented as an official version of the materials reproduced, nor as having been made, in affiliation with or with the endorsement of the source department.
This is a photograph of a Canadian politician or other public official that is owned by the Canadian government, and is under Crown copyright. It is believed that the use of this photograph
- to illustrate the person in question,
- where the image is unrepeatable, i.e. a free image could not be created to replace it;,
- on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation,
