Rogue Trooper computer games have proved popular over the years. Three computer game versions of Rogue Trooper have been made, reflecting the changing types of computer game:

[edit] Isometric

An isometric shooter in 1986 by Piranha Software for the Amstrad CPC, Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum.

The game consisted of killing Norts and being told by Gunnar far too frequently to "Rip 'em, Rogue". The game did not prove to be very popular with fans of the comic.

[edit] Platform

A platform game incorporating first-person vehicle levels for the Amiga and Atari ST in 1990 by Krisalis Software.

[edit] Third person adventure

A third-person action-adventure game (again incorporating first-person vehicle and weapons levels) made by Rebellion Developments and published by Eidos was released on 23rd of May 2006 for PC, PS2 and Xbox. This is the second game Rebellion has produced based on characters from the pages of 2000 AD; the first being the Judge Dredd: Dredd Vs. Death first-person shooter of 2003.

This game receaved mixed responses in the media although most agreed that it made good use of the subject matter. The Game uses story and plot elements from the original comic.

[edit] Trivia

When Rogue dies, one of his BioChips will call out Rogue's name in a similar way to Metal Gear Solid, though the voice is more sarcastic.

[edit] Awards

It was nominated twice for a BAFTA in 2006 for the Screenplay and Character categories in the video games section [1]
