Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin is a dark ride at the Disneyland theme park in Anaheim, California and Tokyo Disneyland theme park, located in Urayasu, Chiba, Japan, near Tokyo. The ride is based on The Walt Disney Company and Amblin Entertainment's 1988 academy award winning landmark feature film Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
Both versions of the attraction are located in Mickey's Toontown. The Disneyland version opened on January 26, 1994, a year after the Mickey's Toontown area opened and the Tokyo Disneyland version opened on April 15, 1996.

[edit] History
Roger Rabbit was recognised as a lucrative character by Disney after the release of Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, and an ambitious set of attractions based on the movie for developed for many Disney theme parks. Roger Rabbit was even set to be the star of his own land, behind Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland, called Hollywoodland. Meanwhile, over at the Magic Kingdom, a new land behind Fantasyland was being developed in honor of Mickey Mouse's sixtieth birthday, aptly named Mickey's Birthdayland. There were also set to be attractions based on Roger Rabbit, Judge Doom and Baby Herman opening in a major expansion at the Disney-MGM Studios and Tokyo Disneyland, but after the financial disaster of the Euro Disney Resort, plans were dramatically cut back.
Hollywoodland was cancelled, and was combined with the idea of Mickey's Birthdayland as well as a concept found in Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, to form Mickey's Toontown, which opened in 1993 behind Fantasyland at Disneyland. Mickey's Birthdayland opened as planned in 1988 before Euro Disney, and was expanded as a sister to Mickey's Toontown at Disneyland and was renovated in 1996 to re-open as Mickey's Toontown Fair. The attractions at Disney-MGM Studios were cancelled, but an exact replica of Mickey's Toontown opened at Tokyo Disneyland in 1996.
[edit] Ride
Guests board a yellow cartoon cab named Lenny. Each cab seats two people, and the cabs are dispatched in groups of two. Once guests reach a scene of Roger Rabbit and Benny The Cab, spinning out in a puddle of "DIP" spilled by Judge Doom's Weasel Gang, the steering wheel of the cab becomes active, and the car can then spin around, much like Fantasyland's Mad Tea Party. The rest of the attraction features many scenes and characters from the film, such as Jessica Rabbit and Baby Herman.
[edit] Trivia
- In the film, the taxi cab is named Benny, however the cab that the guests enter is named Lenny. For theming purposes, guests enter Lenny the cab because Roger is out driving Benny the cab. (Benny and Roger can be seen in the first scene of the attraction)
- The ride was also to be built at Disney-MGM Studios in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
- In the ride, Marvin Acme's "Acme Warehouse" from the film is called the "Gag Warehouse."
- On January 26, 2004 the popular movie based dark ride celebrated its 10th anniversary.
