Roger Michell

Roger Michell (June 5, 1957) is a South African theatre, television and film director.
Among his more notable credits, Michell has directed Notting Hill and Changing Lanes. Michell was in negotiations to direct the 22nd official James Bond film, but talks fell through due to "creative differences".
He has directed numerous stage productions including, including during a two year stint at the Royal Court Theatre, and one on Broadway.
He will direct the upcoming film from Paramount Pictures, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. The film is based on Mark Twain's novel dealing with racial issues.
Michell was born in Pretoria, South Africa, and has also lived in Syria, the former state Czechoslovakia, and England. Michell attended Cambridge University where he was recognized as the best student director[citation needed]. He was married to the actress Kate Buffery, but they are now divorced and he is currently dating Anna Maxwell Martin.
