In the Star Wars Expanded Universe, Roganda Ismaren (—27 ABY) was a Dark Jedi, native to Alderaan.
[edit] History
One of the few Jedi younglings to survive the Great Jedi Purge, Roganda was hidden with her brother Lagan Ismaren in Plett's Well on the Outer Rim planet Belsavis. Shortly thereafter, the threat of the Eye of Palpatine forced them to flee the planet with Master Plett. After the siblings were captured by Inquisitor Ameesa Darys, Lagan was killed, and Roganda converted to the Dark Side.
Roganda became an Emperor's Hand, one of the Emperor's elite operatives deployed to do his bidding throughout the galaxy. Eventually Roganda bore a son to Sarcev Quest, a fellow Emperor's Hand, but for political advantage claimed the boy's father was Palpatine. She named her son Irek. After hiding for seven years on Belsavis, Roganda kidnapped Leia Organa Solo, who had discovered her plot. Leia had seen Roganda once before during a banquet for the Emperor on Alderaan 2 BBY. There her gossipy aunts told her that Roganda was one of "the Emperor's concubines", reputedly had borne him a son, and attempted to make her son the new Emperor with support from the wealthy lords of the Senex Sector and Juvex Sector.
Roganda directed Irek in commandeering the Eye of Palpatine. Her long-term plan -- dating from when she had experimental electronics surgically inserted into Irek's head, and he trained to use it in conjunction with the Force by Nasdra Magrody -- was to use the Eye of Palpatine as the invincible spearhead to tear several sectors from the New Republic. But she did not foresee the ship being sabotaged by Luke Skywalker, and utlimately destroyed by Nichos Marr. Roganda and Irek fled Belsavis to the Corva Sector where she used favors owed her by Harrsk, and from thence to Coruscant, where Roganda had Irek transformed by fellow Emperor's Hand Lord Cronal into "Lord Nyax." The mentally unstable Irek then killed his own mother.
