Rodrigo Patricio Ruiz de Barbieri (born May 10, 1972 in Santiago, Chile), also known as Pony Ruiz, is a Mexican football player, who currently plays for Santos Laguna of the Primera División de México. He wears the number 11 jersey and is one of the most popular and loved players by the club's fans.
During the qualifiers to the 1998 FIFA World Cup, Ruiz played a match with the Chilean national team against Uruguay at Centenario Stadium, that Chile lost 1-0. Since that match, Ruiz has not played internationally.
Ruiz was one of the best players in the Chilean team Unión Española. There, he played in the Copa Libertadores, where the team lost in quaterfinals against Sao Paulo.
