[edit] Moving articles... some tips.
Have a look at the top of any article page. There's a tab labeled "move". Just press it!
Before you move an article, check the "What links here" link on the left below the "search" box, in the "toolbox". Take note of these links.
When you move an article, a redirect is automatically created in place of the original article title, pointing at the new article title. That way, someone typing the old article name will still arrive at the new article.
Then, for final cleanup, you go back to all the pages that linked to the original page name, and edit those pages so the links point at the new page name.
It's really easy for articles with few incoming links. For articles that have a lot of incoming links, it's no harder, but it is more time consuming. --Unfocused 16:00, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)
