[edit] Brief biography
Rockets Redglare was born Michael Morra in New York City. As a result of his mother's drug abuse, he was born addicted to heroin. His entire life was plagued by battles with alcohol, heroin, and methadone. [1]
He made his acting debut in the 1984 Eric Mitchell film The Way It Is, also known as Euridice on the Avenues, a film whose cast also included Steve Buscemi and Vincent Gallo, who also composed the soundtrack. Later that year, he appeared in the Jim Jarmusch film Stranger Than Paradise[2], going on to appear in dozens more films before his death in 2001 from a combination of kidney failure, liver failure, cirrhosis and hepatitis C.
