Rockbridge County High School

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rockbridge County High School was built in 1992 to include all students in Rockbridge County and Lexington City in grades 9-12. This school consolidated the former Rockbridge High School, Lexington High School, and Natural Bridge High School. The school's mascot is the Wildcats.

The Wildcats are a Division 3 team, from The Valley District. The 2006 season was led by; Pat Bannon (TE and LB), Wes Harlow (WR and DB) and Marcus Mayo (QB and S and KR).

Mayo, who could possibly be one of the best Wildcat Quarterbacks, leading his team offensively to the playoffs and to the state championships.

Bannon, who is already planning to go to Army, helps lead the one of the toughest Defenses in RCHS history.

Harlow, who made two amazing special teams plays in one game, bringing the ball back for a touchdown each time.

All these are noted to be seniors who have played their final season.

Also, big key players; Jeff Early(Junior), Stephen Strowbridge(Sophmore), Terrell Fitz(Sophmore), Michael Middleton(Senior), Keith Mohler(Senior), Tyler Staton(Sophmore), and Brady Saunders(Sophmore).

The Men's basketball season kicks off with it's first away game against Lord Botetourt Wed, December 13, 2006. Then their first home game is against long time rival, Robert E Lee High School, a team not beaten by RCHS in the past many seasons.
