The term Rock Music and Sri Lankan Originality would raise many an eyebrow and have a sea of music enthusiasts flooding in awe to witness the next rising tempest of the Sri Lankan underground. Anticipation and excitement would unravel the highest of expectations while today, those expectations have been met wholeheartedly. The year 2003, saw the birth of Rock Company, the single force that has staged a platform and established a movement where little interest was focused towards the development of Originality in Sri Lanka. Until its advent talented musicians only played creations and covers of international artistes. But today, artistes and bands hailing from a myriad of Rock sub-genres have been able to release many an album, create uncompromising music, organize countless concerts and receive unremitting publicity and exposure. Rock Company offers the largest solace for any committed musician provided through an united ring of peers and fellow Rockers who with a steadfast commitment work as one to make, shape and establish an industry, that will finally bloom in Sri Lanka.

The above bands began the Underground Metal Circle in Sri Lanka, after raking in several other bands from the Rock Company and going on a mass negative publicity campaign about Rock Company bands. The UMC later folded due to infighting between the bands, and their inability to set aside ego from music.
